Three consecutive years of profitability drive two-notch upgrade

One of only 13 contractors nationwide to receive top rating

Ssangyong E&C has been awarded a Triple A (AAA) credit rating by the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), marking a two-notch improvement from its previous A+ rating.

The achievement places the company among just 13 contractors out of 2,740 evaluated nationwide to receive HUG's highest credit rating.

According to the company, the upgrade increases its guarantee limit to approximately KRW 14.95 trillion, up by roughly KRW 5 trillion from the previous year.

The higher rating is also expected to reduce fees associated with sales guarantees, defect repair guarantees, and construction guarantees, lowering financing burdens for developers and housing associations while strengthening Ssangyong E&C's competitiveness in securing new projects.

A company spokesperson said: "The upgrade reflects three consecutive years of profitability, improved debt servicing capacity, and continued growth in our housing business. Building on this momentum, we will continue pursuing growth across both domestic housing developments and overseas building and infrastructure projects."

HUG credit ratings provide a comprehensive assessment of a contractor's financial strength and management capability and serve as a key benchmark for guarantee programs, including project financing (PF), sales, and defect repair guarantees.
