Ssangyong Engineering & Construction (Ssangyong E&C), in collaboration with Shimizu Corporation (Japan) and Kimly Construction (Singapore), has been commissioned by Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) for the Alexandra Hospital Redevelopment Project - Outpatient Package.
This major undertaking will see construction of two large-scale outpatient and inpatient blocks within the existing Alexandra Hospital site, with a total budget of approximately USD 580 million for this truly mega-scale facility. The joint venture will deliver the outpatient block (OP) works, valued at approximately USD 230 million, in which Ssangyong E&C holds a 40% stake.
The large-scale new outpatient block will encompass three basement levels and twelve above-ground floors, offering consultation suites, clinics, administrative offices, and a four-level parking facility.
Commissions such as these reflect the company’s strong reputation for project-management expertise in the delivery of highly complex medical infrastructure, such as the Woodlands Health Campus (WHC) in Singapore.
Ssangyong E&C’s track
record boasts the construction of global medical facilities totaling
approximately 12,000 hospital beds. In Singapore alone, the company has
delivered several major healthcare facility projects in succession, including
Tan Tock Seng Hospital (1998), the New K.K. Hospital (1999), and WHC (2024). To
this proud record of achievement will be added the Alexandra Hospital project
also.
