
The ASML Hwaseong Campus, constructed by Ssangyong Engineering & Construction, held its completion ceremony and officially opened on November 12 in Songdong, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
The ceremony was attended by more than 80 distinguished guests, including Ssangyong E&C CEO Kim In-su; ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet; Kang Gam-chan, Director General for Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Korea; the Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province; and senior representatives from Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.
The campus is ASML’s first Korea-based core infrastructure facility, established to reinforce its local production and technology base. Over the course of this project, Ssangyong E&C once again demonstrated its advanced engineering capability, and expertise in the delivery of high-tech industrial infrastructure.
Positioned to serve as ASML’s strategic hub in Asia, completion of the Hwaseong Campus marks a significant addition to Ssangyong E&C’s global portfolio. This undertaking has strengthened the company’s partnership with a leading global client, which will platform further collaboration and future engagements.
ASML envisions the Hwaseong Campus bolstering technological cooperation with Korean semiconductor giants, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, while building robust networks with suppliers of domestic materials, components, and equipment. Long-term and mutually beneficial growth across Korea’s semiconductor industry is the key driver behind these efforts.
