The iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, constructed by Ssangyong Engineering & Construction (E&C), has been recognized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) as one of Korea’s “Top 10 Overseas Construction Projects.” Records and photographs related to the project have been on display since September 16 at the Beyond the Past, Into the Future special exhibition, which commemorates Korea’s achievement of USD 1 trillion in cumulative overseas construction. The exhibition is being held at Korea Territorial Development Museum in Jung-gu, Seoul, and will run until March 8 of next year.
The special exhibition highlights the 60-year history of Korea’s overseas construction industry, tracing its journey from its pioneering start in 1965 and the Middle East construction boom through to the present day. It underscores the significance of surpassing the USD 1 trillion milestone in cumulative overseas construction orders. The Marina Bay Sands Hotel was one of the top ten projects selected for the exhibition through a combined public vote and expert review.
